A2 Music Video:Audience Profile for Michelle Branch's: Everywhere

Age: For this music video and song we wanted to know who the audience watching and listening to it would be. This is so would could incorporate they're thoughts and interests into the music video. We thught that the age of people watching our music video would be early teens. This song is soft punk and pop, with also an indie edge. We thought that 12-15 year olds will just be getting into music at this time and will be looking at which genre to listen to and which suits them. These are also the adoslescent years for the teens, this song expresses a bit of rebelience with the soft punk that the teens will listen to when going through the stages of these years.


Gender: The gender
This song is by a female artist singing about a boy. So it is more likely that the audience gender would be females. This song will relate to them is their having their first crush which they will be because the age of this video/song is 12-15 year olds.

Social Class:
There isn't really a social class with teenagers. They are all the same class, going through the same things. They will be at school and living with their parents.

Interests/Hobbies:
The interests of these teenage girls would probably be; music and boys. Not just these, there will be a lot more interests as well. Their hobbies may consist of being a hopeful musician themselves.

A2 Music Video: Idea: Everywhere

Our idea for the music is based around the sound, not really the narrative of the lyrics because they don't really narrate anything. They just have a basis idea about a girl who's in love witha boy who only exists in her dreams, not in real life. We are kind of using this idea. We are just making it so that the singer did have a boyfriend but he died in a car accident which will be at the start of the music video. It is our idea that she is singing about; even though he is dead, she sees him everywhere in her dreams and she loves seeing him again but wants him to exist out of her dreams as well. Most of the singing parts of the song will be on the field near where my sister and I live. We hope it will be quite foggy that day as well because it will add more an atmosphere to the music video.

These are the lyrics to Michelle Branch's; Everywhere. Even though I know most of the words, when we are going to film I want a copy of them with me. We want to pay attention to the lyrics because we want our music video to be a half performance music video and a half narrative music video. This is because we want to show a range of skills we are going to use involving both of the strategies of filming. We wanted a mix, showing the singer singing the song and also scenes with our idea that we have finally chosen. Our music video is based on the base idea of the lyrics which is; about a girl who loves a boy who doesn't exist. She describes how she only sees him in her sleep and in real life he is no where to be seen. We are changing this idea a bit because we don't want to copy the whole song, we want our own ideas to be in the music video.

A2 Music Video: Idea from an Original Music Video

In Paramore's; 'Decode' music video for the film Twilight. They film the singer in the woods just singing, they use a lot of other scenes and effects but we got our idea of just the singer singing in a field from this. In this video she is sining in the woods with a hat and just a jumper and jeans on. We want to create this affect in our music video.

A2 Music Video: New list of song choices

When thinking of new song choices and ideas, we wanted a female artist and a song that would suit one of us ( myself or Lysette.) While looking at different song choices we were putting things like; female artists, number ones of the 2000's, every number one in the last ten years. This is because we wanted to choose a song that we both know throughout because we can't waste time learning it now. These are the songs that we were looking at;

We thought of this song because it is a simple song about a girl feeling guilty about being with another boy after her boyfriend was killed in the war. I quite liked this song because I thought it would be quite easy to film but Lysette thought the opposite so we decided against this song because we wanted to agree on the song we choose.

Everyone knows this song and video; where she is playing a moving piano. As we discovered from the last song by her; we had no ideas for this song because it isn't really a narrative song. We again, rejected this song.

We then looked at Love Story by Taylor Swift. We both love this song and I really wanted to do this song for our music video. However Lysette didn't, we wanted to agree on a song together so we got rid of this idea. Lysette then persuaded me to see that because the original music video was such a big production; we wouldn't be able to live up to it and handle the expectations.

We also thought if we chose this song we would just copy the music video because of the narrative in the song. This is what we didn't want, we want to use our original own ideas.

We both know all the lyrics for it and could allready think of ideas for it. We decided that this was going to be our final song choice. I will post the ideas we had on a sperate blog.

We decided to change our whole idea because we wanted to just use us two as actresses because we released from our other idea that we can only rely on each other. This meant we needed to think of a song for the music video, this means we just want a song by a female artist. We were looking at the original list that we had set out for ourselves, looking at the songs only by the female artists we had put down.

When we were going through ideas, I really wanted to do this song because I love it and the video aswell. We decided on this song for a while, then changed our minds. This song is kind of classic pop and counrty at the same time. We love the genre pop so this is why we wanted to choose this song. In the music video; it is about a nerdy girl telling the boy she loves that she is better for him than his over obsessed girlfriend. So we wanted to base the song around the original video. We chose against this song because we thought that we could never live up to the video. Everyone knows and loves the video. We thought we couldn't make it as good and as well done as it so we chose not to do it. We didn't want to do it and have finished it knowing we are going to be compared to the original video and it not being as good. So we wanted to do a song we know we can do and won't be such a big production

We thought of this particular song because it is very easy and simple to do. This song is about a girl breaking up with her boyfriend because she doesn't like him anymore. We thought it would be quite simple to do because it would just be a girl singing and acting like she hates her boyfriend. So we liked this choice. Untill we began to deeply think about it. We didn't want to aim for something too easy and boring. We wanted to challenge ourselves. So we decided against this idea.

We thought of this song after we decided against Kate Nash. This is because although they are quite similar, we liked the song and the overall story a lot better. The song is about a girl thinking she has fallen for a boy. So we thought this would be quite easy to do again but whats different about this song so Kate Nashes is; we had more of a plan and more ideas for it. So it wouldn't be as boring. In the end we decided that this song was again; too boring. We wanted to do something with a bit more rythym and some you could tap your foot to.

This song is on our list because it is big at the moment and it is fresh in our minds so we know all of the lyrics, we know what the song is about and we know the music video. We like song because it's quite fast and isn't slow like a lot of our other choices. So we thought we could handle doing this song. Then we began to think about it properly and almost just after we chose it said that it was too fast and too much of a big song and production to film with just one camera and a tripod. We thought we were being a bit over ambitious.

With this song, we decided it would be our final music video song choice. We had this decided for about a week. We had a set idea on it aswell. The song is about a girl saying that her boyfriend tells her what to do, what she should wear and she's fed up of it. She's basically saying; Who died and made you king? We had an idea of doing a bit of narrative for the music video but also a lot of singing as well because we want the girl to be singing in it as well.

We looked at all of these songs and decided that, still none of them appealed to us so we were going to make a new list of female artists to choose from.

A2 Music Video: Filming!

Today was the day we planned to film. We only managed to film a bit. This is because the weather was VERY bad. It was raining the whole time and it was too dark to even see the boys. The boys were not taking the filming seriously either. So after we got home from filming we were thinking of changing our whole idea. We were going to discuss it in more detail later on.
